7 out of the 15 fastest growing economies, globally, are in sub-Saharan Africa. The population of Sub-Saharan Africa is 850 million and is growing at a rate of 2.3% per annum. There are more cities of over 1 million inhabitants in Africa than in Europe.

However, sub-Saharan Africa has the lowest internet penetration with around 96% of population currently without broadband internet access. With 62% of the population below 30 years old and the middle class expanding exponentially, tripling over the last 30 years, African internet revenues are forecasted to reach US$ 20 billion by 2015.
